Keep it to one or two pages in English (or French if the employer works in French). Start with your most recent job, describe what you did with action verbs (served, prepared, welcomed), list languages and certificates with dates, and add a photo only if the employer asks for one.
Cruise lines usually ask for hospitality experience, good English and a valid passport. Seafarers generally also need STCW basic safety training, a medical certificate and, depending on the country, a Seaman's Book. Contracts often last several months with long working days. Requirements vary by company and role, so check each official careers page.
Common questions include: Tell us about yourself. Why do you want to work on a cruise ship? How do you handle a difficult guest? Can you work long hours for several months away from home? How do you work in a multicultural team? Prepare short, honest answers with real examples from your experience.
Expect questions about guest service, teamwork, availability and handling complaints. Learn about the hotel's style before the interview, connect or arrive early, dress professionally and show a guest-focused attitude. Prepare one or two questions about the role and training.
Apply through the employer's official careers website or an authorized recruiter. Read each vacancy carefully, adapt your CV and cover letter, keep copies of what you send and note the deadlines. Never pay to receive a job offer.
Working abroad usually requires a visa or work authorisation issued by the destination country. Only government authorities decide on them. Use official government websites and be careful with anyone who promises a guaranteed visa or asks for money to "secure" a job.
Warning signs of a fake job offer: an offer without any interview; pressure to pay quickly for "reservation", "processing" or "training" to secure the job; messages only from personal email or messaging accounts; salaries that seem too good to be true; requests for bank details or passport copies before any official process. Check the company's official website, contact it through its official channels, and report suspicious offers to the local authorities.

What we collect: only what you give us through the form, WhatsApp or email: your name, country of residence, the service you request, your target role and destination, short answers about your experience and documents, and anything you choose to share for your service, such as your CV.
Why, and on what legal basis: to reply to your request, send you a written offer and provide the service you choose (GDPR art. 6(1)(b): steps before a contract and performance of a contract); to keep invoices and records required by law (art. 6(1)(c)); and to handle questions and complaints (art. 6(1)(f): legitimate interest).
What we never ask for in the form: passport or ID numbers, bank details, or sensitive data such as health or religion. Please do not send them unless we first explain a specific need.
Who receives your data: only KhouyaPlacement. Messages pass through WhatsApp (Meta) and emails through Gmail (Google), which process them under their own terms and may transfer data outside the European Economic Area under their own safeguards. We do not sell your data, and we never send your CV or details to an employer or recruiter without your explicit permission for each application.
How long we keep it: [for example: 12 months after our last contact], then we delete it, unless you ask us to delete it earlier or the law requires us to keep certain records longer (for example, invoices).
Your rights: you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy (portability), by writing to khouyaplacement@gmail.com or on WhatsApp. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Portugal this is the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).
Cookies and third-party content: this website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Candidate accounts (when available): if you create a candidate account, we also store your email, login details, profile, uploaded CV and the applications you track. This data is hosted by our provider Supabase [in the EU region you choose], acting on our behalf. You can download or delete your data from your account at any time.
